Back to reality.. and my little girl Nikole... =D

So, I got married. This isn't the blog that I am going to write about that though. This isn't the blog about the hooneymoon either. This is the blog about my little girl Nikki. She was born on Febuary 16th 2008 only 6 days before Michael asked me to marry him. She is an adorable vivacious Jack Russell Poodle Hybrid. Nikki is a little ball of energy, but despite that she still loves to cuddle with her mommie. At her early age she has many talents. She is completely (well mostly, on good days at least, I think, I hope... =S ) potty trained to use the doggy door in the house to the garage because we don't have a yard. She likes to shred paper, chase bottles and chew on them, after taking the label and cap off all by herself. She does hat tricks with her empty food bowl, balancing it on her nose and throwing it up in the air and then bounding over to do it all over again. We were watching a movie on the couch a few days ago and she was playing with her bowl next to me and she managed to throw it so well it hit me in the side of the noggin. It hurt but the swelling has finally gone down. Nikki likes to watch tv, especially dancing with the stars, dance on her hind legs and jump into my arms despite her stature limitations. She also likes to open the bedroom door by jumping and pulling the handle down, which is a good foot higher than her head when she stands on her hind legs. Her favorite game is chase, and she often chews on fingers or toes. When she wants my attention she steals a loose sock or a stuffed animal that is not hers and runs around the house so I can't catch her. Just this morning though, I caught her putting one of the stuffed animals she is not supposed to have back where it belonged because I told her to. She is absurdly smart. She is infinitely curious, and just as determined to get whatever it is that she wants. Sound like anyone you know? =D She is also hard to photograph because she is all black.
Here I am strangling her. HA! just kidding she was yawning. Looks ferocious eh? Don't let her fool you, if she hears a noise she doesn't like she barks at it and then hides on my lap, or behind me. She sleeps with me every night cuddle between my pillows, sometimes even on top of my pillow with her little wet nose almost touching mine. Before bedtime she likes to give Michael a bath, she will lick any part of him she can get to and then expects to be repaid in playtime, and then she starts nibbling on his hands.

When we were on our honeymoon, my parents babysat her for me, she gave them a lot of grief and sleepless nights, and for that I am truly sorry, but so thankful that they were able to keep her. When we came to pick her up my mom was holding her and as soon as she saw me she kicked and struggled against her grasp to get to me. I think she wouldn't let me put her down for a while after that. I could honestly talk about her all day, so I will try to find some more pictures of her and post them after this. Here she is in a rare moment of stillness.

5 Days Remain...

So looks like we made it kids... we are down to the last week. My last week as MC, soon to be MB. I got my hair done already, the lovely and talented girls at the Euphoria school always take such good care of me. I have an appt for next week for them to do my updo, I know I am in good hands. =D Work here was crazy for a minute, but now it is finally calming down. I have a hard time staying focused lately. I can't imagine why. Friday Michael and I went to the City of Henderson to obtain our marriage license. Me being prepared already had the applications filled out when we went there. 55 dollars is pretty expensive for 3 pieces of paper, but worth it. Michael kept walking around asking people if wecould get married. It was so cute.

At our combigned bachelor celebration we enjoyed some sushi with our closest friends. It was delicious. After sushi we went to a Kareoke bar, where Michael sang (it was a fantastic rendition) "I Should Have Been A Cowboy" and I made my debut with "Love is a Battlefield". I wore this sash that said Miss "Outta-Control" Bachelorette that lit up and this pin that said pecker inspector. Michael got to wear on that had boobs on it. It was so cute.
So in this last week I will be doing much. The music has been selected and I will be building the playlists for Nathan. The finishing details are defined, and I don't feel stressed at all. Maybe I will, but as I sit here in my little office cube I am smiling, constantly smiling with the thoughts of everything that is going to make this week go by so fast for me.
It is the end of one life and the beginning of so much more.

The beginning..or the present..

Today is Friday. Apparently blogging is the new black and after enough requests, I have acquiesced. Allow me to update you...

I am currently engaged to the most amazing man in the whole world. I am not Marie Bordelon yet, but in less than 2 months I will be. He is perfect for me, and I can't imagine spending the rest of my life with anyone but him.

Together we adopted an adorable 5 month old Jack Russell Poodle mix. Her name is Nikole but I call her my little Nikki. Her recent achievements include opening the lock on her dog run by herself as well as using the doggy door to go to the potty. She is very smart and very determined but also very sweet and very affectionate. Well, to me anyway. She loves her momie and her momie loves her. I will undoubtedly have more to say about her in the future.

I work at CCSD as a Drafter. Recently I was unoficially promoted to Senior CAD Technician, taking a position above all others that I work with aside from my direct supervisor. I have only been employed by the district since June 2007. I am the only girl and also the youngest person in my department. Due to professionalism I won't go into much detail or my opinion on the reactions that I have received since this announcement, but I will paraphrase with this. Everyone (perhaps not everyone exactly but mostly) thought I was given the postion unjustly because they themselves should have had it. I love my new duties far more than the previous.

Michael and I recentlyjoined a gym. Las Vegas Athletic club. It is so awesome. We have trainers, and towel service and raquetball memberships and I am just so excited to have so much at my fingertips. Hopefully we will be able to fit it in with everything.

Wedding planning is going well, the invitations are in progress as I decided the only way to get what I wanted was to make it myself. Some aspects are perfect, others I would try to do differently if it were possible. Things left to be completed include flowers and decorations, music playlist, tuxedos and other minor details. I am mostly very excited about picking up my wedding dress on monday!

Breaking Dawn comes out tomorrow, so I am planning to go to Wal-Mart at midnight and getting my copy! Yay!

Now you have been moderately updated. This is my boring but wonderful life. I am planning to post pictures of everything in the coming weeks.
